Some tidbits from the last couple weeks:
We're still waiting to hear back from the bank and are just hoping to close on the house before the new year.
The kids have had fun "unschooling" this month. They love to play together, play games, read books, and run around outside in the beautiful Arizona winter. I've been trying to help them learn to ride their bikes without training wheels. Here's a conversation Wes and I had while riding bikes:
Wesley: "2-wheel bikes are like fools."
Me: "How are bikes like fools?"
Wesley: "They both fall down a lot."
Not sure how he knows fools fall down a lot, but it made me laugh!
Eva and I got to go see the play "Junie B. Jones: Jingle Bells, Batman Smells." It was wonderful! And it was fun to go on a date with Eva.
We had a yard sale last weekend to get rid of stuff we're uncluttering in hopes of moving. So we're a few hundred bucks richer but keeping that money for the new house.
And yesterday I discovered Wesley had gotten sharpie marker on the carpet in his bedroom. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Cody discovered online how to remove it and we spent a good half hour pouring rubbing alcohol on the stains and blotting 'til it was all up. We WILL get our rental deposit back ;)
Eva loves to read and will read way past bedtime. I try not to stifle it though. I did (still do!) the same thing.
Here's a picture my mom sent me. Last summer when we visited Texas, Eva and a friend played "beauty shop" and wrote on the walls. You can see the wonderful phonetic spelling.
Here are Eva and Wes playing with a Christmas gift from last year. It's a block of "dirt" with archeological tools and they have to dig out the dinosaur bones. They are serious about the work and can spend hours at a time on it.
Here's an airplane Cody helped the kids build out of balsa wood.
On my birthday with the card Eva made me. She loves to make cards for people!
My birthday pie Cody made me!
The bathtub after the kids get cleaned up from Park Day! Ewwwwww! Who's gonna clean that thing??
