We had an offer accepted on a house! Yay! My part time job (10-12 hrs/week) for the last 3 months has been spent looking for a house. There have been a few that we liked in that time but for some reason we've never gotten farther than making an offer. But today after seeing a home and making an offer it was accepted within a couple hours and Cody is out right now faxing documents and such. We'll be spending a couple thousand dollars on fixing a few things and buying a couple appliances but at least it is livable and mostly clean. And now my mind is starting to think of all the little things we'll need that add up quickly - window treatments, area rugs (there is tile throughout the house), vertical blinds for the sliding door...
In other news, one of our two goldfish has died but neither of the kids seemed especially disappointed so that's good.
Cody got back late last night from a business trip to Vegas and I surprised him with a new haircut and haircolor. I'm also forcing him to take next week off since he's been working so much and was gone this entire week. A whole week with my hubby home! What a dream come true. ;)
There were a few good shopping deals this week although I expected more from the supermarkets' Thanksgiving sales. We got free Aussie shampoo from Walgreens which is helping me along my goal of never paying for shampoo, conditioner, handsoap, toothpaste, or toothbrushes ever again. Of course the .40/lb turkeys were a great buy. Fry's was accepting competitor coupons and I used an Albertson's Oscar Mayor bacon coupon for buy 1 get 2 free. Ended up being around .80/1 lb. of bacon.
Oh! My personal exciting news is that I was released from my calling as Relief Society instructor, although I guess that's moot now anyway since we'll most likely be moving in December...
That's all the crazy random news I can think of for now. Hope all our friends and family have a great Thanksgiving!
